The Claridge mission is to promote the AKC Golden Retriever Breed Standard in the Conformation Show Ring. Along with the natural Golden traits, Dot is focused on the proper blocky head, layback of shoulder, large bone structure and a strong, smooth gait. The breeding program is very limited which truly characterizes Claridge Goldens as a boutique breeder.
The quest for Champion quality Goldens yields the byproduct of fine, pet quality offspring. Puppies are sold with Limited Registration to pet homes only. The process entails initial contact with Dot to determine fit and timing. Once a litter is welped, deposits are taken to hold your place on the list. At 8 weeks of age the puppies go to their new homes.
The life of a "Dot Dog"
Puppies enter the world in a warm, safe, and clean environment. Litters enjoy ample human interaction and socialization. Early Vet checks and shots are completed.
Once selected as a promising Show pup, Dot Dogs are transitioned to outside/inside living. The goldens enjoy free run over an acre of fenced playground, maximizing their athleticism. As the young develop, proper clearances are established: the list includes Eyes, Hips, Heart. Only then can the dog enter the Conformation show program.
Eventually older dogs retire to pet homes. Check out "Thelma" as she noodles the lazy river in retirement.
